Who?
Protea Stage Productions & Keyboard Magic East Rand Music and Drama School have come together to host weekly Musical Theatre classes.
The invitation is open to any and all who feel drawn to theatre – be it audio-visual elements: the spoken dialog, the acting, the singing, the dancing, or the backstage elements: directing, producing, choreographing, costuming, furnishing – and would like to learn more about it in a comfortable environment from trained instructors and experienced actors, directors and producers.
What?
Musical Theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance to convey a story line.
The Academy offers free drama classes, a comfortable environment for students to improve their self-confidence, problem solving skills, teamwork, trust and communication skills.
Alongside free drama classes, graciously provided by Protea, those who choose to participate in the accredited Musical Theatre courses will receive training in singing and dancing, as well as a graded qualification through an internationally recognised examination board with accreditation that can be used in future applications to tertiary institutions and more.
For a minimal monthly fee, participants will be trained at each graded level and will be provided with all the necessary skills and information to participate in an Internationally graded exam through the Rockschool International Musical Theatre Syllabus.
When and where?
These classes will be hosted every Saturday from 13 May 2023, starting at 9am. Unless otherwise communicated, the venue will be the hall at the Benoni Church of Christ, 93 Great North Road, Farrarmere, Benoni.
